Special carbide preforms are products that get machined prior to sintering (baking). In this state, called the green state, the machining of carbide is similar to cutting chalk. The benefit of working with carbide in the green state is that complex geometries, holes and/or slots with various locations or timing can be produced. Additionally, diameter reductions occur at a lower cost than hard grinding or EDMing.

Preforms are made to print with stock allowance for finishing in our shop or yours.
